Our island selection focuses on three islands with easy links to Athens and the mainland. Aegina is 25 minutes from Piraeus by fast ferry, with Agia Marina beach and the Temple of Aphaia driving weekend and summer demand. Lefkada is an Ionian island you reach by car over a causeway and bridge; Aktion airport lies just across the water and its west-coast beaches are famous nationwide. Evia is joined to the mainland by bridge. Tenants are summer short-stay guests, Athenian weekenders and sailors; demand softens in winter.
